Family vacation in a new light:
We leave first thing in the morning by car for the lower station of the Bergeralm Cable Car (1,000m) in Steinach am Brenner. When we arrive at the parking lot, I unload my bike and accompany my family to the lower station of the Bergeralm Gondola. We're already impressed at the ticket booth by the family-friendly pricing – entrance to the Bärenbachl Water and Leisure World is even FREE.
The day can begin – when we arrive at the middle station on the Bergeralm (1550m) we are amazed by the unusual panorama. Before we really get started, we take a stroll to the Restaurant Bärenfalle (1,650m) about 10 minutes away and enjoy a hearty breakfast. The wonderful view and the typical Tyrolean hospitality keep impressing us again and again.
The kids can't bear sitting around idly any more and are soon exploring the Bärenbachl Water and Leisure World with Grandma. Now it's also time for me, my wife, and Grandpa to take off. The weather is just perfect and nothing stands in the way of an exciting day. I accompany my two hikers to the chair lift – Helga and Grandpa ride to the Nösslachjoch and from there hike to the Lichtsee.
The mountain calls! I travel along perfectly marked forest paths up to almost right under the Eggerjoch (col at 2,280m) – absolutely gigantic! Oops, my stomach is starting to call as well – lunch is already arranged and I go to meet my family at Bärenfalle Restaurant. I meet up with all the family just in time at Bärenfalle Restaurant.
We decide on lunch and relaxation on the sun terrace. The view is gorgeous; the service and price are perfect! After a short break, the kids steal me away to the Bärenbachl Water and Leisure World. This is also what I've been looking for. An impressive and peaceful landscape – just right for my tired legs. Just a few more minutes relaxing and... am I starting to fall asleep?
Unbelievably it is already late afternoon: time to set out for the valley again. Tired but happy, we ride the gondola back down into the valley. Tomorrow – well, tomorrow the hiking boots are coming out again – for another excursion with the family to the Bärenbachl Water and Leisure World!
